WHHS Meeting for 8th Grade Parents

WHHS will be hosting a Parent Info Night on Monday, Feb. 27th. 5:00PM: Building Tour and Club Fair; 5:30PM: Assembly in the auditorium. Scheduling forms need returned to homeroom teachers on Tuesday, Feb 28th.  

Science Club
Science club will meet Tuesday, Feb. 28th till 4:30. 
Track Parent Meeting
There will be a meeting for any student and parents interested in track on Thursday at 5:00 in the BMS theatre.  
Absent Student Work Requests

When your child is absent more than 1 day and wish to request homework, contact the office 875-8440 or email kim.shannon@franklin.kyschools.us and we will be happy to send around a request worksheet for you to pick up before 4:00. I have several ready for pickup now. Also, make sure you send a doctor's/parent note with your child as soon as they return to school. The flu has definitely hit BMS unfortunately.  

Celebrating FFA Week
Thursday – Cowboy day – wear anything country (Boots, hats, camo, etc.) Friday – FFA colors – Corn gold and National Blue (FFA shirts)  
Bondurant Wins Chapter MathCounts Competition!
Bondurant's MathCounts team continued its winning streak at the Chapter MathCounts Competition this weekend at Good Shepherd School. Approximately sixty students from across the region competed in this challenging problem-solving style math competition.  

Bondurant defeated teams from Franklin, Anderson, Scott, and Boyle Counties on its way to the championship. The four person team of Ahmad Ateyeh, Kobe Staude, Nikhil Akula, and Anish Penmecha earned the highest averages on both individual and team tests to take home the trophy.

Individuals finishing in the top 14 for Bondurant include: Nikhil Akula---3rd place overall, Ahmad Ateyeh---5th place overall, Anish Penmecha---9th place overall’ and Jai Joshi---14th place overall.

Other individuals on the Bondurant team include: Gabriel True, Sara Jones, Hithan Garla, Marcus Negron, Mason Wooldridge, Chinmay Tope, Sahil Shaik, Sanjna Raj, Aathman Bhavaraju The top 12 individual test takers took part in a single elimination, one-on-one quick recall tournament, and Ahmad Ateyeh emerged as the champion in this intense competition.  

AR Cutoff
AR cut off---February 24. 
MineCraft Makerspace
MineCraft Makerspace activity is coming Thursday, February 23rd until 4:45. If you would like to attend, you must pick up, complete and return a permission slip to Mrs. Kuhn. There are only 26 slots available. Seats will fill up quickly. 
PTO
Next PTO meeting is Thursday, February 23rd in the Library at 5:30.  
Upward Bound

Bondurant is Celebrating African American Heritage This Month.
 
Bondurant Academic Team Going to State!
The Bondurant Braves finished second overall in the Region 10 Governor's Cup hosted at Bondurant Middle School this Saturday, missing out on the overall championship by 1.5 points. Teams from Franklin, Anderson, Scott, Woodford, Shelby, and Oldham counties competed in the precursor event to State Governor's Cup competition in the spring. The quick recall team earned a return trip to state competition, their first in six years.  
Math Olympiads
Math Olympiads will meet on March 8th until 4:45. It will be our final testing day.

 

8th Grade DC Trip
The registration for the 8th grade Washington, D.C. tour will close effectively March 1st. Any payments at this late date will need to be paid in full. Students currently registered will be receiving $67 in fundraising to be applied to the cost of the trip. The tour company is aware of this allocation and will adjust your final statement to reflect this. Any person who has paid in full and eligible for fundraising will receive a refund from Gerber Tours. Gerber Tours has not yet received the school fundraising money yet, but BMS and the board are in the process of having this distributed.

https://www.att.com/shop/internet/access/index.html#/ AT&T has a low cost internet option for families that participate in SNAP. The cost looks like $5 -$10 per month. 
PTO Requests Kroger Community Rewards Signups

PTO needs your help again this year. August is re-enrollment month for the Kroger Community Rewards program. Even if you are already a participant, you need to re-enroll for Bondurant to continue receiving rewards based on your purchases. If you are not already participating in this program, TODAY is a good time to start! Go to kroger.com and click on community to get started. Thank you so much for supporting PTO!
 
Box Tops, Labels for Education, Tyson A+, Ink Cartridges and Old Cell Phone/Tablets Donations
The BMS PTO supports a homeroom competition each trimester. The homeroom with the most donations of Box Tops for Education, Labels for Education, Tyson A+, Coke Rewards, used ink cartridges and old cell phones/tablets wins a party. Please continue to save your items over the summer so your child can turn them into his/her homeroom teacher at the beginning of the new school year. Thank you for supporting the BMS PTO.
