Bondurant Middle School Back-to-School Bash Thursday, Aug 10th, 2017 from 5-7pm Come and enjoy the fun with teachers, food, community vendors, and most of all, our awesome students and families! Grade Level Presentations in GYM 6th Grade – 5:00pm (Dance Team Performance Afterwards) 7th Grade – 5:30pm (Cheer Squad Performance Afterward) 8th Grade – 6:00pm *Class Schedules will be distributed AFTER Grade Level Presentations 
Cross Country
Dear Parents, Cross Country is about to start and we are getting everything ready for a great season! If you are interested in your child participating, please contact Coach Linda Word at [email protected] or text her at (502)219-7513 to have your child added to the roster. We will start practices on Monday, July 31st and they will take place at the State Library and Archives (please meet in the parking lot behind the Archives building). Athletes should plan on attending all Wednesday practices and at least 2 other practices every week. Our practice schedule will be as follows: Mondays @ 5:30-6:30 Wednesday @ 5:30-6:30 Tuesday @ 4:30-5:30 Thursday @ 6:30-7:30 Athletes must bring to the first practice * a completed sports physical * money for a uniform * completed intake form (contact Coach Word and she will e-mail you a copy) Uniforms: $23 tanks (girls & boys), $17 shorts (girls & boys), $20 spandex shorts (girls) Archives meets - All athletes will be entered automatically in the All Comers meets. The meets will be held every Wednesday at the Capitol Archives between Aug 23 - Sept 27 5:30pm - 8th Grade and under boys 5:40pm - 8th Grade and under girls 5:55pm - 4th Grade and under boys 6:10pm - 4th Grade and under girls

6:20pm - High School girls and boys combined Saturday Meets The following is a tentative list of Saturday meets we plan on attending. This meets may be subject to change but the dates should stay the same: 9/2 - Shelby Co. Invitational 9/16 - Franklin County Invitational 9/23 - Titan Cross Country Classic 9/30 - Capital View Classic (FYI same day as KY History Half Marathon) 10/7 - Lexington Catholic Invitational or Tates Creek Invitational 10/21 - KTCCCA Meet of Champions Athletes WILL NOT be entered in ANY Saturday away meets unless they notify the coach they will be attending. 6th Grade Parent Meeting

We will have our 6th grade Parent Meeting at 5:30pm on Thursday, August 3, 2017. We will be discussing what you can expect as you and your students transition into middle school, ways you can help them at home, differences between elementary and middle school, and more!  

Tribal Training Information

Date: Thursday, August 3, 2017

Time: 8:00am-3:20pm

All incoming 6th grade student are invited to Tribal Training to prepare for the new school year! If you would like your child to participate in Tribal Training, please complete the registration form and turn it in to 6th Grade Team Leader, Katie Thompson. Students will be rotating through their 6th grade class schedule and practicing important routines for middle school. Activities will include: Learning how to open lockers, agenda use, mapping the building, positive peer interactions, and dealing with conflict. We also have some fun activities planned! To get our new 6th grade students into the BMS Spirit, all students will be tie-dying a white shirt! Please send a white shirt with your student to tie-dye! All students should bring $5.00 as well to purchase a student agenda. They will use this agenda every day during the school year so this is a great opportunity for them to become familiar with it!

Two FCPS teachers win statewide honors
Bondurant Middle School art teacher Jennifer Meo-Sexton was recognized today as Kentucky's Middle School Teacher of the Year during a ceremony at the State Capitol. As Middle School Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Meo-Sexton was one of three finalists for the statewide teacher of the year award.
Also honored during today's ceremony was Mrs. Cheryl Nance, a kindergarten teacher at Collins Lane Elementary School.
Both Mrs. Meo-Sexton and Mrs. Nance were among 24 finalists statewide for the Kentucky Teacher of the Year awards program, which is presented annually by Ashland, Inc. and the Kentucky Department of Education. All 24 teachers were honored during today's ceremony. Franklin County is one of just two school districts with two finalists this year. For video and photos, visit our Facebook page!

Bondurant library books can be turned in or paid for at the front office throughout the summer. 
BMS Wins 7th Grade Battle of the Books
Congratulations to the Bondurant 7th Grade Battle of the Books team who conquered Elkhorn Middle in an excellent battle today! It was obvious that they did some serious reading to prepare for this competition. Way to make Bondurant proud.
