Does your child have the winning golden ticket??
Good morning families! I wanted to share with you an opportunity for your family to win $100.00 while helping renew Bridgeport Elementary's school playground! Going home today will be an envelope from the Reading for Education company. Inside, you will find a golden ticket! One family from our school is holding the winning ticket! To enter your ticket number, you have to follow three simple steps:
1. Go to www.rfe.net
2. Sign up to help our school (ID# 7320) and to send e-mail invitations
3. Enter your golden ticket number

Once you've signed up and sent e-mail invitations, you will be given a code verifying that you have sent out e-mails-you'll need to write this code down on the paper inside your envelope. The paper with the code on it will then come back to school with your student and he/she will receive a PRIZE for helping out! For ever e-mail address you send an invitation to, BPE will receive $0.50! So, if you have multiple email addresses, you can help raise quite a bit of funds for our playground!!

The e-mail invitations will provide the opportunity for family and friends to order magazines, books, home decor and other wonderful items. Also, family and friends can choose to make a donation to your child's homeroom teacher! These donations are sent to the school as gift cards for the teachers to use as needed for their classroom. On top of that, your child will receive prizes for every purchase or donation! These prizes are sent to the school at a later date.

This is an easy way for us to get a step closer to our goal of renewing our playground! If you have any questions, please send me a message at: barbara.mathis@franklin.kyschools.us

Thank You,
Barbara Mathis

Bridgeport Tiger Times for Feb 3rd
Morning! Happy Friday! We just finished Student of the Month-congrats to all!
Monday’s snow day means we are now in school Friday March 17th. Yesterday was our 100th day of getting smarter here @ the ‘Port! Each day we are making it happen!
Mr. Groundhog saw his shadow so…6 more weeks of wacky weather-who knows!
We are glad to welcome February, which got me thinking-
Experts say the “mid-year slump”—a time when some kids lose enthusiasm for learning—is real. So February is a good time to review your child’s progress and promote success.
To do this:
1. Look over your child’s last report card. Ask his/her teacher for suggestions on helping your child do her best. Communicate with the teacher throughout the year.
2. Be creative. Read books and do activities that relate to what your child is studying. Visit fun, safe, educational websites that will reinforce learning.
3. Recommit to organization. Make sure your child’s school work and supplies are in order. Help him/her clean out his/her backpack and restock his/her study space.
4. Set exciting goals. Help your child set a specific goal: “I want to finish a chapter book.” Plan how he’ll/she’ll do it: “I’m going to read one chapter a day.” Then applaud his/her efforts! Be sure to cheer for all his/her hard work, not just the end result.

Enjoy your weekend!
