Please take a few minutes to cast your ballot today!
Each of the 10 nominees to serve as a representative on the search committee for a new superintendent has submitted a statement explaining why he or she would like to serve on this committee. EMS Wins Again
Grading Scale Change
Dear Parents/Guardians:
The Franklin County School Board last night responded to requests from the school councils of the district’s high and middle schools by approving a change to the grading scale for students in grades 4 through 12.
The new scale will bring the Franklin County Public Schools in line with many other school districts that have made this change, and it will help more of our students qualify for the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES), which helps pay for college for a large number of our students. The KEES program provides scholarships to students who earn at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) each year of high school.
The new grading scale will take effect immediately.
The following table shows the previous grading scale with the old figures crossed out and the new figures in red:
A 92 – 100 90 - 100
B 83 – 91 80 - 89
C 74 – 82 70-79
D 65 – 73 65-69
F Below 65
The change applies to grades 4 and 5 in order to bring them in line with the middle and high schools, and to facilitate the transition from elementary to middle school.
Please feel free to contact Mr. Bartley if you have any questions about this change.
