Congratulations to Jennifer Meo-Sexton, art teacher at Bondurant Middle School, who has been named one of nine semi-finalists for the 2018 Kentucky Teacher of the Year award!
Earlier this month, Mrs. Meo-Sexton and Cheryl Nance, a kindergarten teacher at Collins Lane Elementary, were selected as recipients of the 2018 Valvoline Teacher Achievement Awards. As such, they were two of just 24 teachers statewide who qualified to compete for the 2018 Kentucky Teacher of the Year Award.
Mrs. Meo-Sexton is one three teachers from each grade level (elementary, middle and high) to be named semi-finalists for 2018 Kentucky Teacher of the Year. The winner will be announced on May 16 during a ceremony at the State Capitol. The awards are made by Valvoline and the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE).
Of course, all of Franklin County can take pride in the fact that two of our teachers were named for these prestigious awards and that one of them has now been named among the top nine. You can read the KDE news release here…
