STLP State Competition Results
On Wednesday, April 12th, members of the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) competed in 7 events at the State Competition which was held at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY.

Congratulations to Amber Lyons whose Digital Art entitled Tree of Life earned 4th place in the high school division of Digital Art. Kudos also to Sumobot team members, Garrett Palmgren and Zachary Young. Their Sumobot placed 4th in the double elimination high school division of the Sumobot tournament.

Garrett Brock and Palmer Collett created an amazing Showcase Project entitled Drones to the Rescue. They were interviewed by a reporter from The State Journal Newspaper as well as a news crew from WLEX-18 News. All morning long students, teachers, parents. etc. stopped at their project to hear about drones, simulate flying a drone, and in some cases actually fly a drone. Awesome project, guys!!!

The Robot Xtreme Challenge (RCX) team competed fiercely at State. Team members are Savannah Albers, Emily Brown, Amber Lyons, Jonah Pipes, and Jordan Woolums.

Congratulations to all of these students on a successful season. None of them are seniors so look for even stronger performances in 2018.
